Installing VeriLock Security Sensors on Gliding Patio Doors w. Exterior Locks | Andersen Windows


This video will show you how to install
a Verilock Security Sensor on Andersen A Series, 400 Series and 200 Series Gliding
Patio Doors with an exterior keyed lock. You’ll need safety glasses, a Phillips
screwdriver, a drill with a 1/8 inch bit, a tape measure, a pencil and a hacksaw. As
well as, a Verilock security sensor kit available from your Andersen dealer
or parts.andersenwindows.com. Before you begin, find the accessory guide that
came with your kit. Be sure to read it completely including all the cautions
and warnings. Magnets are included in this kit, be sure to keep them away from
electronics or implanted medical devices as damage could occur. After selecting
the Verilock faceplate that best complements the decor of your door,
press the sensor into the backside of the faceplate. Insert the battery into the sensor with
the plus sign facing out as shown. Then, position the barrel lock actuator and
insert it into the hole in the faceplate as shown. Unlock and open the patio door. Remove the screws securing the thumb
latch and properly dispose of the screws. Then, remove the thumb latch and the
exterior keyed lock. Next, insert the thumb latch pin through the actuator
slot on the sensor assembly as shown. If you have Tribeca Hardware you’ll need to
place one of the color-matched spacers between the thumb latch and the sensor. Next, measure one quarter of an inch from
the sensor assembly and mark the thumb latch pin with a pencil. If you have
Tribeca Hardware make sure to measure with the spacer in place. Take the
assembly apart and cut at the mark location using a hacksaw. Apply the screw
standoffs to the backside of the exterior keyed lock as shown. Reassemble
the thumb latch and Verilock sensor. Position the exterior keyed lock on the
panel. Insert the pen extender into the lock mechanism until it is flush with
the interior of the door as shown. Verify the panel surface is clean and dry.
Position the thumb latch and Verilock sensors assembly on the panel as shown
and fastened using the screws provided. The indicator light will illuminate when
the sensor assembly is applied to the panel. Position the magnet on the side
jam, behind the weatherstrip tight to the interior edge of the lock receiver
as shown. Mark the position of the holes in the
magnet. Then, remove the magnet. Using a 1/8 inch bit, drill two holes, three
quarters of an inch deep at the marked locations, taking care not to damage the
weatherstrip. Position the magnet over the holes and fasten with the screws
provided. Close and lock the door. To verify the sensors operation unlock
the door the indicator light will illuminate for
one second it will illuminate again when you open
the door, when you close the door and finally, when you lock the door.
