Poetry workshop, Rugby Library

Poetry workshop, Rugby Library

So basically it was an idea that we discussed quite a while ago, quite some forward thinking, but we discussed the
idea and then the Festival of Culture in Rugby asked us if we want to host it
and we thought it was a really good idea and we’ve got some more planned for the
future as well. So I did my own planning of this session, but as well as that I’ve
had Emma who’s a professional poet help me through my own poetry my own
understanding of poetry, which has really helped me lead the workshop today, and as
well as that meetings with library staff who have just sort of helped with the
organisation of the session. I feel like I’ve gained a lot more confidence in leading a creative workshop, which is really useful also it’s developed my
own poetry as well. I’ve gained some inspiration from the other people in the
workshop and it’s also good CV experience I think, and it’s helped
me with like future job interviews and the confidence
area as well. So we’ve got two more workshops planned across Warwickshire,
which this workshop has really helped to prepare for, as well as that
we’ve got the festival which is tomorrow (the Also Festival) so the workshop has acted as preparation for that, boosted my
confidence for that as well. So the festival tomorrow, that’s going to be
talking to people about poetry and having crowd-sourced poetry which
happened in the workshop today and so experiencing a bit of everything.
